Bikes, Beer & Bourbon Tailgate Party

Race Headquarters will be set up for the weekend at 45th Parallel Distillery as well as the New Richmond Golf Course.  Test out free Borealis bike demos on the iconic trails and pre-ride Saturday’s race course. Stop by 45th Parallel Distillery for Packet Pick-Up, talk with industry professionals, and check out the latest and greatest in winter biking gear at our Vendor Expo! 

Afterward, get ready for an evening of fun with games, beer and bourbon at New Richmond’s 45th Parallel Distillery for Fat Bike World’s second Bike, Beer & Bourbon Tailgate Party!  You can opt to take part in some fun games or just enjoy front row seats to the fun from the patio/bonfire pit during our opening party! Again this year, the Ice Bar will be set up right outside 45th with the comfort of fires aglow to keep you and your friends toasty!  Voyaguer Saunas will be on site as well and invite you to warm up in their custom saunas.

BOREALIS FAT BIKE WORLDS p/b Anderson’s Maple Syrup
Championship Race: 24 miles, 4 laps / Fun Race: 12 miles, 2 laps @ 10:00am / LaMere eFat Bike Race: 19 miles @ Noon

Racing, Fat Bike vendors on site to assist with mechanicals/bike repairs, kicks off mid-morning and continues all day long as we cheer on competitors!  

Awards will follow the championship race (3:00pm), as well as other prizes and giveaways at 45th Parallel. Then, stick around for the Fat Bike Worlds After Party and enjoy a bonfire, live music, food and signature drinks.  And wait ’til you see what 45th has up their sleeve for Fat Bike Worlds signature swag/liquor for you to purchase before the weekend comes to an end!

Fat Bike Worlds – Elite Women’s race details 2023

1. Competitors must be in the Elite race to be Fat Bike Worlds overall champion (and top 5 Worlds

podium).

2. Elite race participants are not eligible for Age Group awards.

3. Elite race women will enter the main course loop immediately (no neutral rollout loop).

4. Elite race women should not draft anyone other than the females in the elite race.

5. Elite women’s race will start 5 minutes ahead of the mass start race.

Fat Bike Worlds – Women’s mass start race details 2023

1. There will be a separate “overall” podium for women participating in the mass start race.

2. Mass start women will not be considered to be competing against women in the elite race.

3. Mass start women finishing on the “overall mass start” podium can still earn individual age

group awards.

4. Absolutely NO passing or advancing of positions of any kind during the neutral rollout. Violation

could result in time penalty/disqualification. Safety first.

Fat Bike Worlds – Men’s mass start / elite considerations

1. There will be 1 overall podium of top 5 for all men riding the Championship event.

2. Men wanting to compete for overall should seed themselves in the 2 nd and 3 rd rows toward the

front.

3. There will be call ups for approximately 5 men that will make up the front row.

4. Absolutely NO passing or advancing of positions of any kind during the neutral rollout. Violation

could result in time penalty/disqualification. Safety first.

5. Mass start race will begin 5 minutes after the elite women’s race.

Sunday, January 29

Anderson’s Maple Syrup Pancake Breakfast, Fat Laps Circuit Race & Little Berds Kids Race  

Sleep in then stroll down to the Anderson’s Maple Syrup Community Pancake Breakfast.  After a good meal, round out the FBW weekend and give it your all in the Fat Laps Circuit Race presented by BIKESTUD on a 1-mile groomed course across from the 45th Parallel Distillery.  Or bring the kids and let them get in on the action in the Little Berds Kids Race – all bikes are welcome!  Awards will be distributed following Sunday’s races as well.
